Trend Following Update – Exiting Short NASDAQ

Following our exit of our S&P short last night, today’s strength triggered an exit for our NASDAQ short position which we have exited at tonight’s open for a loss of $2,625.00 per contract. This leaves us SHORT 30yr, 10yr, Yen, Euro, Sterling, Gold, and LONG Dollar, Oil.

Short NASDAQ ($NQ_F) 6/21 -$2,625.00 per contract

This wasn’t a huge surprise as we knew it was very close and the NASDAQ staged a strong follow through rally today, breaking through our cited resistance level as well as the descending trendline from the May highs. Both NASDAQ and S&P are even close to triggering a long signal now. A modest consolidation here and resumption higher would be very positive and give a strong buy signal.

Our remaining positions are as follows:-

Short 30yr ($ZB_F) 5/13 +$9,593.75 per contract

Short 10yr ($ZN_F) 5/13 +$4,796.875 per contract

Long Dollar ($DX_F) 7/8 -$1,015.00 per contract

Short Japanese Yen ($6J_F) 7/8 -$2,150.00 per contract

Short Euro ($6E_F) 7/8 -$2,225.00 per contract

Short Sterling ($6B_F) 7/8 -$1,000.00 per contract
